8:15 a.m. Very sick. Nauseous, woozy. In bed. I’ve lost several pounds in just the past few days. I knew that might happen again – that’s why I force-fed myself to gain the weight over the past few months.
1:30 p.m. Just ate some chicken broth with some noodles and a little chicken. Feel a bit better. Here’s a tip for anyone going through chemo: Always have chicken broth at home and some noodles to throw in it. It’s light but filling and provides liquid and some salt – good for when you’re nauseous but need to eat something. I also took a shower. Now I’m back in bed in a clean nightgown – I change them everyday while I’m on chemo week because of the sweating – I’m sweating out the chemo.
3:30 p.m. Sick as a dog again. Boiling hot then freezing. Just got my latest blood tumor marker CEA result. It’s less than .5 which is great. Stomach is starting to hurt – cramping. Can’t keep my eyes open.
5:30 p.m. Lying here. So tired. Need to keep my eyes closed. Need to eat but I feel sick. Maybe a little yogurt? Have to get something in me.
Just had some yogurt – tolerated it – left a bad taste. My hands feel weird. Everything is off.
The day is fading. The leaves have turned from gold to brown. Pink clouds on the horizon. Quiet. Leaves rustling.
7:00 p.m. It’s worse. Hot flash. Nauseous.
Signing off now. Hope tomorrow will be better.
